  • Ayush and Tribal Affairs Ministries Announced National Level Project of Health Screening and Management through Ayurvedic Interventions. It is a joint initiative on the public health of tribal students. 
  • An eminent jurist and senior advocate of the Supreme Court, Fali S. Nariman, died at 95. Nariman has been a senior advocate of the Supreme Court since 1971. He also served as president of the Bar Association of India from 1991 to 2010. In his condolence message, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Shri Fali Nariman ji was among the most outstanding legal minds and intellectuals.”.
  • Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya virtually inaugurated a “Regional Consultative Workshop on Research Priority for Providing Accessible and Affordable Healthcare for the Northeastern States of India.” The workshop is jointly organised by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Indian Council of Medical Research, the Regional Medical Research Centre, Dibrugarh, and the Indian Institute of Public Health, Shillong.
  • Ameen Sayani, the renowned radio personality, passed away on Tuesday night. He was 91. He played an important role in revolutionising Indian broadcasting. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has expressed deep grief over the demise of Ameen Sayani.

  • The ninth edition of the Raisina Dialogue begins today. It will continue until Friday (February 23). The dialogue is organised by the Ministry of External Affairs in collaboration with the Observer Research Foundation (ORF). India hosts the 9th Raisina Dialogue to engage leaders from over 100 nations in geopolitics and geoeconomics discussions. The Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, is the chief guest.
  • The Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, is on a two-day state visit to India. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met Mitsotakis at Rashtrapati Bhawan.

  • The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) completes the human rating of its cryogenic engine for Gaganyaan mission. “ISRO’s CE20 cryogenic engine is now human-rated for Gaganyaan missions,” the ISRO said on ‘X” on Wednesday.

Business News

  • Union Finance Minister Smt.Nirmala Sitharaman chaired the 28th meeting of the Financial Stability and Development Council (FSDC) in New Delhi. The macro-financial stability challenges and India’s readiness to address them were discussed by the council. The council also discussed issues related to the formulation of a strategy for executing the decisions of the FSDC and the Union Budget 2024 announcements.
